Hi Tracey,
Thanks for responding, I guess it is not easy being married, it takes alot of giving and alot of taking. I know I have a problem with work, but some part of the problem is not mine. I work very hard at home, and I want to write. That takes time and money, my youngest daughter is a handfull. She is fifeteen soon to turn Sweet Sixteen, she is head strong, and does as she pleases. It is not easy to set rules with her, she complains about the house, because we have animals. Like dogs and I have one Yellow Naped Amazon, the bird is very beautiful. It is still a messy proposition, but I enjoy the other charesteristics. The bird says "I love you", "Hello", "sings and whistles" and also says "Sponge Bob" when in a good mood, the bird also will say the whole thing, Sponge Bod Square Pants, I have a Hanh's McCaw that keeps that bird coampany. It equates to maintence, and keep up, it requires that I am home a certain amount of time so they know they are not alone. If I have things to do, then I just clean the cage, and water and give them food and turn on the radio so they have some distraction. Otherwise if I am feeling guilty, I put on some cartoons, I forgot to mention I also have a quaker parakeet and a parakeet with it. I also have 2 turtles on my kitchen counter. Yipee! I do not like keeping track of my money? Well...that is not a true statement, it is just exasperating that I have to run a house on what my husband gives me. My older kids contribute, but that money goes straight to bills. It is not easy nor fun. My ideal would be to work like 2 days of the week, like in a temporary position. But I feel as though I am out of touch, like I've been away from the real world for about 100 years or so. The women today are really forced to suck it all in, and smile while doing so, then you wonder why some of these women snap and do some strange things. I would just rather suck it in and smile and know that in some small way, I am quite satisfied with my household, and keeping things organized or at the least from the outside it looks that way. I am still on top of pop, that rhymes, of course that is purely fictional which I am not, that comes from a Dr.Suess book, someone on my ex's side of the family is big on that. Otherwise, be well and enjoy this great site. Oh yes, that laundry basket is always ready to go as you see it, and the motto under the basket fits, "Women, because it isn't folding itself".

Hi Tracie,
You look like a busy mom, you have 3 beatiful girls there. How old is your oldest daughter? I think she looks like she is about 17? Your middel daughter looks 13, and your youngest looks like she might be 10-11. THey all have their moments and challenges, I would love to see the day when Dr.Phin and the Nanny, could just appear when we are having a "moment" that is just not going away. Stop by some of my comments, and welcome to Feminist Housewives.

Hello, Tracey! Welcome to the community. What a lovely family you have!

I think many of us here are frustrated with society's views of stay at home moms. This site is about support, but it is also a way to challenge society's view of us.

I look forward to talking with you more!
