My partner isn't comfortable with using the label "feminist" for himself either, though he'll happily accept "feminist ally" and he certainly walks the walk at least as much as I do.

Hello there! Welcome to the community. As we're discussing in the forum, the words feminism and feminist are weighted and mean different things to different people. From my point of view, feminism is just "...the radical notion that women are people too."

My husband certainly agrees with me, though I don't know that he is comfortable with the label feminist either. Have you seen the FAQ on the main site? That might help clarify things for you a bit.

All that said, you are our first male member, but I welcome your input. I look forward to talking with you!
