- I swore I'd never be like my mom, staying at home and taking care of the kids, so I made sure I moved 2000 miles away and got a Masters degree. I was the opposite of you - I thought I'd be like my mom as far as the career goes, but I didn't think I would ever have kids. Maybe adopt, ya know, later, but be pregnant? No way! Well, plans changed and I'm so glad they did.
