Hi Cathy,
My name is Gloria, and I read your response with enthusiasm. I love to write, and write is what I do, I blog about different things, I discuss different positions regarding a favorite subject the misjudgement of women, women and girls that need more guidance, a matter of subject pop up like screens in my elusive imangination of things that deal with the issues involving women. You mention that you are a English Teacher, so I am only too sure you have done your fair share and then some of required readings, and the dramas that are so much a intricate part of the stories of men and women and different things that are occuring that challenge and change the course of the lives of people that pick up those books. The other things that are always changing are the perceptions of things. I sense that right now, the things we are seeing are a signal of new direction of acceptances of social norms. There is more change on the way, and much of change is acceptance. Principles still remain a vital part of decisions in maintaing control and discipline is key especially for our young girls that are subject to this new societal shift. I would appreciate any insights you might have, I would love to go back to school, I am not financially independent of my husband. I do not work outside of the home, even though I am looking. My youngest is fifetten, and she is rebellious. So, like the old expression goes, "we are not out of the woods". We feel like we are just going into the woods. I am going to sign off. Have a Great Day, by the way you have 3 lovely daughters!

About Me:
I'm a full-time (ish) mom of three school-aged girls--11, 6, and 5. I've been home full time since the oldest was born and am now just starting to increase my consulting career. I have a masters in English literature and a few degrees in other fields (biology, chemistry, English), but my current career is in teaching business writing to various companies and government agencies.
I've been married for about 14 years to a great man. He had worked from home for the past 11 years, and he's just now started working in an office again. I loved having him home all day as he got to really watch the girls grow up. But he's having fun now back with other grownups, and I am enjoying watching him find new sorts of happinesses.
Do you consider yourself a Feminist?
Well, sure. For me "feminist" really means thinking about women and their roles in our culture. And as a mom to three girls, I try to stress that women are strong, powerful, smart. And men are strong, powerful, smart. And girls can be soft, fluffy and love pink and sparkles and wood working, and steel-frame construction, and worms and gore and art and football. Just like men. It's all good, really.
Are you...
a housewife, a stay at home mom, a work at home mom
