Brought up to be a feminist I've struggled with sexist reality. I am not good at keeping house because I don't see why it should be all my job. I am stubborn about it. I have found that going on strike is utterly ineffectual and only leads to more chaos. Frankly I'd rather be at university. It's easier.
I've just finished all my assignments etc for a three year Bachelor of Arts (social sciences) degree and am hoping to be invited to do the honours year.
I already have a sweet little boy who is about to turn five, and I have a baby girl due to be born in late September. Their Dad and I are together. We are owned by three cats.
I'm thinking that I may well have to take a year off study to look after the baby and help my son through his first year of school. We're seriously considering starting him in the Steiner stream at a state primary school.
I approve of a lot of left-wing tree-hugging hippy stuff and I consider myself to be pagan. I like attachment parenting although it does have its draw backs in being impractical at times, but then so does the hard-assed old fashioned detachment parenting style.
Do you consider yourself a Feminist?
Hell yeah! And if you don't think your place is as domestic and sexual servant 24/7, you should too!
