Hey Alisa,
Thanks for the invite! I love your pictures of Brenna!! Here and at facebook, she is so beautiful, she looks like a happy baby too. :-) How are you and steve doing? I hope you have had a great Christmas!! Happy New Year (a little early). :-)
Hi, Alisa! I'm glad you told me about this site...today I quit my part-time job, and was still feeling very torn about whether to go back. It felt so good for those 2 months to use my counseling training, after all these years of school! But I'm so relieved to be staying home every day again, because the hassle of outside childcare and not seeing Chris on his days off just wasn't worth it. I like seeing people on here who also love being moms!
Hello, Alisa! Welcome to the community! I use a baby wrap like the one in your picture for toting Simon around everywhere - he loves to be cuddled and get to see everything at the same time. How old is your little girl? Simon is almost 11 months old now. (I never believed all those people who said it goes so fast until it happened to me. You live and you learn.)
I think you do have to be proactive in keeping yourself from getting trapped in a very small bubble. My own mother doesn't really have friends outside of church and family for years and it made her world very small. She's branching out now and it's bringing her some peace.
I definitely understand your 90% answer. The term feminist is a weighted word and you have to be careful what you label yourself. I hope our whimsical logo and friendly community will help the overall feminist community at some point. That's a lofty goal, I know, but I've always been a dreamer.
I look forward to knowing you!

About Me:
I'm a joyfully married mother-of-one daughter (so far). I'm a Christian. I don't work outside the home since giving birth - I love full-time mothering. I'm a huge proponent of natural childbirth and the Bradley Method. I try to live an environment-conscious life, and I want to stay engaged with "the world outside" and serve/love people well (and not be wrapped up too tightly in a religious or family bubble that excludes others). In becoming a mother, I think I finally found my calling in life.
