My daughter is a little over two years old now and I have breastfed her every day since she was born. Even when we went through a rough teething/biting phase I did not give it up because it was something that I wanted to do for my child. I totally understand that breastfeeding is NOT for everyone and do not consider those who do not breastfed to not be attached parents, just to clarify. For those who did/do breastfeed, how long?

I breastfed my son until shortly before his third birthday. He'd been down to one nursing a day and with a gentle shove from me he weaned quite easily.
I'm currently breastfeeding my daughter who is going on 2 1/2 and there is *no* end in sight. Where my son was quite busy and didn't look for comfort through nursing very often, my daughter is a huge snuggler and nurses frequently throughout day and night. Overall I really enjoy our nursing relationship, though I do have those moments where I wish for a little more personal space.
I had 2 children, and i did breastfed for both of them. Maybe you could stop at the age of 2.5 years old, i think will be better not more than that. But that is only a suggestion according to my own experience...
